FSW Machines
Friction Stir Welding (FSW) is a technique in which a rotating tool moves along the joint between two materials, generating frictional heat that plasticizes the materials and bonds them together.
Unlike traditional welding methods, Friction Stir Welding (FSW) does not emit harmful gases, minimizes material deformation and welding defects, and ensures the mechanical integrity of the joint. Additionally, as a machine-based process, it guarantees consistent and stable quality, making it suitable for automation.
In particular, FSW is capable of welding difficult-to-weld materials such as aluminum, as well as dissimilar materials. This versatility has led to its rapid adoption across various industries, including high-speed ships, railway vehicles, and aircraft.
Application Fields
· Lightweighting of launch vehicle fuel tanks through high-quality bonding of aluminum-lithium alloys, which were previously difficult to weld.
· Reduction of joint components and lightweighting through dissimilar bonding of aluminum alloys and aluminum-lithium alloys.
